Omar Sawy Ahmed

Omar is the Cluster Safety Lead for North West Africa, Middle East, and India Region - Pfizer. He qualified as a medical doctor in 1998, and received a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Medicine in 2013, from Hibernia College - Ireland.He holds more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and joined Pfizer in 2003 where he pursued different positions in Sales and Medical, Safety, and Medical Information Departments.

Since 2008, he is leading Pfizer Saudi Drug Safety Unit and responsible for the management and oversight of all activities relevant to the pharmacovigilance system to ensure monitoring of the safety profile of Pfizer’s products and to meet regulatory requirements.Since 2010, he is responsible for the management and oversight of Drug Safety Units (DSUs) across his region to ensure the high quality execution of all safety activities, supporting safety-related requirements for company products, either marketed or investigational, at the country level and support fulfillment at the corporate level.
