Dr Omar Sabri is a consultant surgeon in trauma and orthopedics at the Saudi German Hospital in Dubai, where he is also the deputy head of the department. He has more than 20 years of experience working in the UK's NHS and private sector. He is the Chairman of Kensington Orthopaedics and the acting Secretary of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society (OTS).
Dr Sabri is passionate about medical technology and innovation, and he has conducted multiple robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements with MAKO and NAVIO robots. He is also the Principal Investigator on several NIHR trials, including computer-assisted Patient Specific Instrumentation joint replacements.
Additionally, he is interested in medical education and research; he is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of London and has multiple peer-reviewed journal papers in his specialty areas. He also authored the Pelvic and Limb Trauma Management chapter in the most recent edition of the Oxford Textbook of Critical Care. Furthermore, Dr Sabri is a Global Medical Panelist and Key Opinion Leader for one of the world's leading medical virtual reality firms (Fundamental VR), where he assists in the development of virtual reality simulations to teach and train surgeons.
