Olufemi R. Ayeni MD is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University. Dr. Ayeni completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at McMaster University. Following this, he completed 2 years of additional Sports Medicine Fellowship Training, first at the University of Ottawa/Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic (Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery) under the direction of Donald H. Johnson MD and then at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York (Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery).

Dr. Ayeni was the Assistant Team Physician for the New Jersey Nets (NBA) and Iona College (NCAA). Also, in New York, he received dedicated training in Hip Arthroscopy under the direction of Bryan T. Kelly MD. In his first year of practice, Dr. Ayeni spent a month in Europe as a Visiting Fellow in Hip Preservation and Hip Arthroscopic Surgery at the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, and at Orthopadische Chirurgie Munchen in Munich, Germany. Dr. Ayeni’s clinical practice focuses on athletic injuries and non-arthritic conditions of the hip, knee, and shoulder in adolescents and adults. His research focus is on Outcomes Research in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery.
