Olivier Scatton MD, PhD

Olivier Scatton is a University Professor of Visceral and Digestive Surgery at the Sorbonne University Faculty of Health and a Hospital Practitioner at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. He is head of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Liver Transplant Center. He is responsible for translational research in the INSERM-Sorbonne-ICAN team entitled "Fibro-inflammatory, Metabolic and Biliary Diseases of the Liver." He was entrusted with the direction of the Paris Liver Transplant Center, resulting from the merger of three centers (Cochin, Saint-Antoine, and Pitié). He has conducted numerous clinical trials (phases II and III) as a Principal Investigator. He serves as a national coordinator in the fields of liver transplantation and surgery, and is a member of the scientific council of the French Biomedicine Agency. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer of the laparoscopic approach to liver surgery.
