Olivier Baud MD, PhD

Olivier Baud is full professor of pediatrics, chief of the neonatal intensive care unit and neonatal medicine unit at Robert Debre children’s hospital and leads the AVENIR team R05230HS (UMR 676 Inserm-Paris Diderot University) entitled “New strategies of neuroprotection and repair of the developing brain”. His research career has been focused on studying perinatal brain damage with a particular emphasis on white matter insult.

The aim of the team is to design and test new strategies of neuroprotection and to better understand the mechanisms of repair in the developing brain. Projects in the laboratory have been supported by national and international funding sources, including INSERM, Mairie of Paris, IKARIA Inc.
