Oliver Stegle PhD

Oliver Stegle is a group leader at the EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in Cambridge, UK. His group is developing advanced statistical approaches for analysing high-dimensional molecular traits in the context of genetic variation. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK, in Physics in 2009, followed by a period as postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Campus in Tübingen, Germany. He moved to EMBL-EBI in November 2012 to establish his own research group. The team at EBI develops statistical approaches to link genetic and non-genetic factors to molecular variation. Most recent interests include the use of iPS cell models and single-cell technologies to elucidate molecular variations in the context of human disease.
