Olga Pollatos studied psychology and medicine at the Technical University of Berlin and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In 2004 she completed her doctorate in psychology at the Chair of Biological Psychology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich in the field of emotions and cortical events. From 2004-2008 she habilitated at the LMU Munich with a focus on biological psychology and neuroscience. In 2008 she received her "Venia legendi" for psychology from the LMU Munich. After approbation in medicine in 2007, clinical work in neurology at the LMU Munich 2008-2009 and doctorate to Dr. medical in neuroradiology. Longer research stays abroad took place at the University of Sussex and the Academic Radiology in Nottingham. From 2009-2012 she held a junior professorship for emotion and motivational psychology at the University of Potsdam. Since September 2012 she has headed the Department of Clinical & Health Psychology at the University of Ulm. She is also a psychological psychotherapist (specialization in behavioral therapy) with an additional qualification for group psychotherapy and is currently ongoing further training in special pain therapy.
