Olayemi (yemi) Sokumbi MD

Dr. Olayemi (Yemi) Sokumbi is an assistant professor of Dermatology and Dermatopathology. She graduated summa-cum-laude from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota with a BS in biomedical sciences and earned her medical degree from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She completed a year in internal medicine and her residency in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, serving as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Sokumbi received awards in her residency, including the Roy S. Rogers award for excellence in patient care, the Paul A. O’Leary award recognizing clinical excellence and the Richard K. Winkelmann award for excellence in dermatologic research. She completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern medical center in Dallas, Texas under world-renowned dermatopathologist, Dr. Clay Cockerell.
