Dr. Handzel is an Otologist/Neurotologist at the Tel-Aviv Sourasky medical center that is affiliated to the Sackler School of medicine, Tel-Aviv University in Israel. He graduated from medical school and residency in Israel. He completed an otopathology research fellowship and following a two years clinical fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School. He is currently the head of the cochlear implant program and the senior otologist/neurotologist.

His clinical interests cover most of the field of Otology/Neurotology with a particular focus on Eustachian tube disorders, endoscopic ear surgery, cochlear implants and aspects of the lateral skull base. His research interests include temporal bone histopathology, Eustachian tube dysfunction, temporal bone tegmen defects, and CSF leaks and more. When not in the clinic, operating room and lab he likes to spend time mountain biking with his friends and family, reading and traveling.
