Dr. Octavian Vasiliu is a Senior Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, and Psychotherapist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, and is the head of the Psychiatry Department at the “Dr. Carol Davila” Central Military Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest and a lecturer at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. He holds a Ph.D. (2017) from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, and a Psy.D. degree (2009) from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Bucharest. He is a graduate of the MA program in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy (2005), Faculty of Psychology, at the Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest, and holds an M.Sc. in Neurobiology (2006) from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Biology.

Vasiliu is the lead author or co-author of over 120 articles published in psychiatry and psychology journals, 250 papers presented at national and international conferences, and 15 monographs addressing topics in clinical psychiatry, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, personology, and addictology. He was the principal investigator or sub-investigator in 22 multicenter clinical trials and a member of 20 national and international societies for psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychology. The Department of Medical Sciences within the Romanian Academy awarded him the 2017 ”Gheorghe Marinescu” prize for the book ”Impact of Pharmacological Therapy on the Quality of Life in Geriatric Depression”.
