N. G. (Niv) Patil is currently a Hon. Clinical Professor and Senior Adviser at Centre for Education & Training at the Department of Surgery; and Institute for Medical & Health Sciences Education at Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. His passion for medical and health sciences education was recognized by University of Hong Kong with prestigious award of University Teaching Fellowship medal in 2004. He has been a founding member of UNMDG and E-Health committees of Universitas 21 Health Sciences group; and is active associate of AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe) and Asian Medical Education Association (AMEA).
