Nitin Kumar PhD

Dr. Nitin Kumar is currently a Research Investigator at the University of Michigan Medical School. He received his PhD degree in Biochemistry from the University of Verona, Italy. Dr. Kumar has been a member of several scientific societies including the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH). He is an elected new investigator by ISH. Dr. Kumar’s long-term research interest involves understanding the complex mechanisms that lead to the development of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Kumar employs a combination of immunological, biochemical, and molecular approaches to identify new therapeutic targets in the treatment and prevention of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.
