Nirusha Lachman PhD

Nirusha Lachman PhD is Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Anatomy, Mayo Clinic with a joint appointment in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery. She has been a member of the AACA since 1998. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Clinical Anatomy in 2003 from the University of Durban Westville, Durban, South Africa, based on my work on surgical anatomy of the coronary vessels, under mentorship of the late Dr. Robert Acland at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, KY under whom she also completed a fellowship in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 1995, she joined the Department of Human Biology at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), Durban, South Africa, where she held a Full Professorship in Anatomy.
