Dr. Bhatia is an Interventional Cardiologist offering Structural Heart Interventions as well as Coronary and Peripheral Vascular Interventions at Heart South Cardiovascular Group, PC/Shelby Baptist Hospital in Alabaster, AL. He completed his Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardio-Oncology, and Advanced Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN where he received training in complex coronary, peripheral, and structural heart interventions such as TAVR(Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), Watchman/Amulet (LAA closure), MitraClip, Peri-valvular leak closure, and ASD/PFO closure. He has published more than 33 original articles, presented more than 50 abstracts at National and International meetings, received various awards, and served as an invited peer reviewer for numerous cardiovascular medicine journals. His research involves studying clinical outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease, especially is a result of malignancies (Cardio-Oncology) and Structural Heart Disease. He is one of the first and only a few physicians to have received formal fellowship training in Cardio-Oncology along with Advanced Interventional Cardiology. His research has been widely cited in prominent international publications.
