Dr. Nimit C Shah is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He has successfully completed MBBS, MRCP (UK) and MD (Cardiovascular Medicine Research, Dundee, UK). He was awarded Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology from the prestigious University of Oxford, UK. He has a Fellowship in cardiovascular research from UK and an Advance Interventional fellowship from Royal Bournemouth Hospital (UK).
He is accredited by British Society of Echocardiography to perform adult echocardiogram; and is also an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor for Resuscitation Council of UK. He has vast experience in both general and interventional cardiology. He offers specialised and leading edge treatments for heart disease.
He has the expertise in technologies such as FFR (device used to measure the blood flow in the heart artery) and IVUS (ultrasound camera to study the blockage in the heart artery), in order to precisely tailor the treatments to the patients. This will allow the optimum use of stents and reduce unnecessary stent implantation, as well as enabling accurate sizing and measurement of the narrowed coronary artery to get optimal results. He is also an expert in using techniques like Rotablation (a device used to negotiate hard calcified arteries) to successfully treat complex and difficult coronary artery disease.
