Nils Claudius Gellrich DMD

Professor Nils-Claudius Gellrich has been the director and chairman at the Hannover Medical School, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, in Hannover/Germany, since October 2004. Starting in 1982, he studied both dentistry and medicine at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany. After acquiring his license as D.M.D. in 1987 and as M.D. in 1989, he started his specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany, in 1990.

His major research interests focus on: complex reconstructive strategies in CMF surgery, tissue-transplantation and regeneration, tissue-engineering, patient-specific implants, computer-assisted planning and surgery, multimodal imaging analysis, neuroprotection and regeneration, and intraoperative navigation. He is an acknowledged speaker, faculty member, and chairman at numerous scientific meetings, conferences, and courses worldwide.
