Nilce Maria Martinez-Rossi is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo. She was head of the Genetics Department at FMRP-USP, 1st treasurer, and 1st secretary of the Brazilian Society of Genetics. She participated in the organization and scientific committee of several versions of the Bras Congress. of Genetics and the Microorganism Genetics Meeting. She is a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Program in Genetics and other committees at FMRP-USP. She is a leader of the Genetics and Molecular Biology laboratory of fungi in the Department of Genetics at FMRP-USP. She coordinates a FAPESP Thematic project, having already coordinated several other projects financed by CNPq, FAPESP, and IDB-USP. She was a member of the Steering Committee of the comparative genomics project Dermatophyte Comparative Database at the Broad Institute-MIT, USA.
Nilce collaborates with national and international researchers. She is part of the Editorial Board of the journals Mycopathologia, Frontiers in Fungal Biology, The Open Mycology Journal, and Acta Scientiarum (Biological Sciences) and is a reviewer for national and international journals. She did postdoctoral studies at the University of London (1986-1988) and short internships at the University of Glasgow (UK), Texas AM University System (Houston, USA), and the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). She is accredited for master's and doctoral supervision with the postgraduate program in Genetics at FMRP-USP, having graduated to date with 17 masters (of which 4 are co-supervisions) and 35 doctors (of which 11 are co-supervisions). She has experience in Molecular and Microorganism Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: regulation of gene expression, stress response, antifungal resistance mechanism, and pathogen-host interaction.
