Dr. Nikolaos Gougoulias is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in Foot & Ankle Surgery, including arthrosocpic and reconstructive surgery and lower limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction. He completed the "Surrey Foot Ankle Fellowship" in 2009 and is certified by the European Foot Ankle Society. He currently (since March 2021) works full-time at the General Hospital of Katerini in the region of Central Macedonia in Greece, whilst previously (2009-2021) he worked as a foot and ankle specialist in the NHS in United Kigdom (Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey), and part-time privately in hisnhome country, Greece.

He was born in Greece and completed his medical studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, graduating in 1997 (‘grade excellent’), and completed his PhD Dissertation in the Department of Physiology of the Medical School, in Thessaloniki in 2003. He trained in Orthopaedics in the General Hospital of Veroia (Greece), the Royal Hospital Cornwall (UK), and the University Hospital of Larisa (Greece), completing his specialty training in 2007. From 2007 to 2009, he completed fellowships in the UK, in ‘Foot & Ankle Surgery’ (Royal Surrey County Hospital, Frimley Park Hospital), as well as in ‘Knee Surgery – Sports Injuries – Arthroscopy’ (Guy’s Hospital London, University Hospital North Staffordshire / Keele University).
