Nii-daako Darko DO, MBA, FACS

Darko name is Nii Darko and let me get real with you. As a kid, Darko always wanted to have an impact on people or be larger than life. Darko thought about becoming an astronaut, athlete, lawyer, or doctor. It wasn’t until the Cosby Show that Darko knew what Darko wanted to be. A successful doctor with a beautiful wife, great kids, and lives in Brooklyn… What more could a regular kid from Queens, New York want?

After getting the degrees, credentials, and certifications, Darko realized that Darko life was far from a TV show. As a doctor, not only was Darko not in complete control over Darko life, but Darko also hadn’t explored other talents Darko knew Darko had. Darko was in a box.

After a year of doing locums work, Darko had met so many doctors making moves outside of traditional medicine. There were doctors who did medical humanitarian work in war-torn places of the world, others running their own businesses, and some on TV.

They were happy and passionate not just about being physicians but about being IMPACTFUL and adding VALUE to society by doing more than just medicine.

Darko thought to Darko “If Darko had known some of these stories or met these people during Darko climb up the ladder, maybe Darko would have done things a bit differently.” So, Darko pulled Darko other talents off the back burner and created Docs Outside the Box podcast. Docs Outside the Box podcast brings stories of ordinary doctors doing extraordinary things to inspire other docs to think outside the box. Darko guests are living proof that doctors can break free from the exam room.

Their stories have inspired me to push past Darko comfort zone. Darko run Equal Access Health, a successful locum tenens business, where we help physicians obtain the lifestyle they deserve. Recently, Darko am proud to be a best-selling author with Darko book, 3,2,1…Podcast, that helps you build brand authority through podcasting. Alongside Darko wife, medical humanitarian work continues to be a passion of ours when we work with International Healthcare Volunteers in Ghana.

Darko recognize there are plenty of you who don’t feel inspired, are stuck, or just feel like your voice doesn’t matter! I’m living proof that you can break free. Podcasting helped me get off the sidelines. If a kid from New York City can do it, so can you!
