Niels Baekgaard MD

Dr. Niels Baekgaard is a vascular & general surgeon, and associate professor emeritus in the Vascular Clinic at Rigshospitalet and Gentofte Hospital, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He was a member of the pre-graduation education staff and advisor for PhD students. He is a board member of the European Venous Forum (EVF), past president of EVF, and former co-director of the European Venous Course (EVC) in Maastricht. He has completed over 250 talks and more than 100 articles, book chapters, and textbooks on the topic of vascular surgery and endovascular venous disease and is a teacher at international workshops. He was a member of the ESVS guidelines for Chronic Venous Disease and is a member of the ESVS upcoming guidelines for Venous Thrombosis. He is a reviewer of Phlebology, Acta Radiologica Scandinavica, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, International Angiology, Journal of American College of Cardiology, and BioMed research international.
