Nicolò Buffi MD

Prof. Nicolo Maria Buffi, In 1996 graduated from Burnsville High School in Minneapolis (USA). He graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Surgery of Genoa in December 2003 with full marks. From 2001-2002 he attended the Urology department of the Santa Chiara Hospital in Pisa as a volunteer, directed by Dr. Francesco Francesca. From 03/2003 to 07/2004 he attended the Urology department of the Galliera Hospital in Genoa as a volunteer, directed by Dr. Massimo Maffezzini. He obtains the Specialty in Urology in November 2008 with the mark 70/70 at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University under the direction of Prof. Patrizio Rigatti. In December 2005 he obtained a diploma from the University of Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Strasbourg in France (IRCAD / EITS).

In the period from 1/1/2008 to 3/3/2008, he is a Fellow at the Erasme Hospital of the University of Brussels directed by Prof. Claude Shulman, deepening his experience in minimally invasive laparoscopic urological surgery. In the period from 4/3/2008 to 1/9/2008 he is a Fellow at the OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium directed by Dr. Alex Mottrie, he deepened his experience in minimally invasive robotic surgery. In the period from 7/11/11 to 18/11/12, he collaborated with Prof. Guazzoni in the teaching activity with the role of tutor during the second-level University Master in robotic surgery. Since 2008 he has been an Italian tutor in robotic urological surgery with the title of “Proctor” for the Abmedica company. From 2010 to today he is the president of the European Society of Robotic Urological Surgery under 40 (Junior ERUS).

From 2008 to 2014 he worked as Medical Director at the Department of Urology of the San Raffaele Turro Hospital directed by Prof. Guazzoni. In July 2011 he assisted Prof. Guazzoni in the execution of the first intervention in the world of Robotics Pyeloplasty using the innovative Single Site platform.

From November 2014 to 2017 he worked as Medical Director at the Department of Urology of the Humanitas Hospital in Milan directed by Prof. Guazzoni.

From 2018 to 2021 he is Associate Professor at the Humanitas University

From 2022 to today he is a Full Professor at Humanitas University and Director of the Specialty School in Urology
