Nicole Ochsenbein established fetal endoscopy in Zurich in 2008 together with Margaret Husler. After completing her medical studies in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1998, she completed her specialist training in Zurich and Belgium and in 2007 graduated with the FMH specialist title. 2005-2006 Continuing education in fetal endoscopy with Prof. Deprest, Leuven, one of the pioneers in this field. In 2008, she co-led with Dr. Margaret Hüsler fetal endoscopy at the University Hospital Zurich. She is a member of the Swiss Academy of Feto-Maternal Medicine and other international and national committees.
Reviewer for numerous scientific journals. Her clinical focus is on ultrasound diagnostics, invasive fetal therapy, especially fetal endoscopy, and the care of twin and higher grade multiple pregnancies and births. Completion of the Habilitation 2007 at the University of Zurich on the subject of therapy for premature rupture of membranes, which is still the focus of her research and is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
