Nicolas Rodondi (44) grew up in Lausanne, where he received the FMH in internal medicine in 2002. After a two-year research stay at the University of California, San Francisco, Rodondi returned to Lausanne in 2005, where he was appointed senior physician at the Center hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV) and led the Lipid Talks. In 2011 he moved to the Bernese Inselspital as head physician of the Medical Polyclinic at the University Clinic for General Internal Medicine. A year later, he was appointed Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.

Nicolas Rodondi focuses on patient-centered clinical research in the area of ​​cardiovascular risk factors (especially cholesterol) and multimorbid patients with polypharmacy. In this area, he heads the "Horizon 2020" research project OPERAM of the EU. The main goal of OPERAM is to optimize drug therapies, to reduce medication-related spital instructions and to improve the quality of life of those affected. Rodondi's main interests as a BIHAM Director are the strengthening of family medicine, the promotion of academic advancement and the recruitment of future family doctors in order to reduce the risk of the lack of care.
