Nicholas Smith is a neurologist specialising in the management of paediatric and adult neurometabolic diseases, with a particular interest in the disorders of lysosomal function. His clinical and scientific research interests focus upon defining the pathological mechanisms underpinning neurological forms of lysosomal disease to inform the development of novel therapeutic approaches, including gene transfer therapies, for children and adults with lysosomal and related neurodegenerative disorders.We are very pleased to have Nick contribute with our international speakers to the Neurometabolic Symposium, speaking on gene therapies in neurodegenerative diseases.
