Netsanet Abera Asseffa was born and raised in rural parts of Ethiopia. He got Bachelors's in Nursing in 2010 and a Master's in Reproductive Health in 2015. He has worked in the most desirable organizations in Ethiopia such as in a tertiary hospital and medical college, in a University, and NGO.
He started his career as a junior professional Nurse at St Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa where he worked for a year. In college, he gained valuable experience in the areas of patient care. By the time (2010/11), the hospital was one of the three tertiary hospitals in Ethiopia hence it was the busiest and most complex facility. In 2011/12, he moved to Wolaita Sodo University where he worked as a graduate assistant lecturer. He was a member and coordinator of an anti-HIV/AIDS club. Currently, he is working in the same institute as a lecturer.
After he won the most competitive scholarship in Africa, the AUC scholarship where he studied master's in Reproductive Health at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; he volunteered to work at IFHP/USAID where he worked as an assistant to the regional program coordinator of MNH and Family Planning. He is a beginner in the areas of reproductive health research.
