Nelson Pichardo MD

Dr. Nelson Antonio Pichardo, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and medical doctor dedicated to comprehensive mental health care for patients of all ages. With more than 29 years of experience in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Pichardo specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, addiction, and child & adolescent psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Pichardo earned his medical degree from the Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago and completed his residency in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. He has served as a medical director in the U.S. Air Force and has extensive clinical experience across multiple practice settings.

He is the CEO of Hakuna Matata Telepsychiatry Services, a family-owned clinic offering accessible psychiatric care, and also practices at AdventHealth Orlando and other locations in Florida. Dr. Pichardo is known for his collaborative, evidence-based approach that integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and personalized care plans. He offers services in English and Spanish and is committed to empowering patients on their journey to improved mental health.
