Dr. Nelson Leung is a Nephrologist and Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. He is interested in kidney diseases caused by monoclonal gammopathy. Dr. Leung is most interested in is immunoglobulin light chain amyloidosis. This is a disease caused by the overproduction of immunoglobulin light chains that form amyloid fibrils. In particular, Dr. Leung's work revolves around improving current diagnostic techniques and redefining response criteria in these patients.
