Neil Howie PhD, MPhil, MSc

Neil qualified as a Physician Associate in 2011 and has since worked in A&E, acute medicine, and primary care. Neil completed an MSc in Health Sciences at Keele University in 2013, with a dissertation exploring the scope of practice of UK PAs. His current research interests include PA education, translational medicine, including the identification and development of biomarkers, the use of point-of-care testing, health inequalities, and the Physician Associate profession in the UK and its impact on patient care. Neil runs two modules: Emergency Medicine and Evidence-Based Practice, as well as teaching across other modules in the Physician Associate program and acting as admissions tutor.
