Neil A. Busis, MD, FAAN is Associate Chair, Technology, and Innovation, Department of Neurology and Clinical Director, Clinical Affairs, Telehealth Program at NYU Langone Health. He is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Dr. Busis serves as vice chair of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Health Policy Subcommittee and is a member of its Joint Coordinating Council on Wellness and Neurology Outcome Quality Measure Development Work Group. He is the AAN’s Alternate Advisor on the AMA CPT Advisory Committee. He serves on several AAN telemedicine working groups. Dr. Busis is a member of the Steering Committee and co-leads the Action on Consensus Report Recommendations Working Group of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-being and Resilience. He is a member of the committee that wrote the NAM consensus study “Taking Action Against Clinician Burnout: A Systems Approach to Professional Well-Being.” Until March 2020, Dr. Busis was Director of Community Neurology and Director of the General Teleneurology Program at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Chief of Neurology and Director of the Neurodiagnostic Laboratory at UPMC Shadyside. Dr. Busis formerly served on the AAN’s Board of Directors, Medical Economics and Management (MEM, member then chair) and Meeting Management Committees, MEM Coding A subcommittee, and represented the AAN on the AMA’s Relative Value Update and Practice Expense Advisory Committees. He was co-chair of the AAN Neurologist Wellness Task ForceStudy Group and principal investigator of the AAN neurologist burnout study. Dr. Busis is a former president of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, chair of its Professional Practice Committee, and it's representative on the CPT Advisory and Relative Value Update Committees.
