Neeru Jayanthi M.D., USPTA is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery & Family Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta GA. He is also the director of the Emory Tennis Medicine program, geared at treating tennis-related injuries at all levels of tennis players in a comprehensive manner.   He was previously an associate professor of Family Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation as well as the medical director of primary care sports medicine and tennis medicine while at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.  He served as a team physician for Loyola University Chicago athletics for over 10 years and also is a team physician for area high schools.

Dr. Jayanthi has won multiple American Medical Society For Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Foundation Research Grants for his collaborative work on early sports specialized training in young athletes.  He is considered one of the country’s experts on the research of youth sports specialization and overuse injuries, as well as in tennis medicine.  Dr. Jayanthi is currently the President of the International Society for Tennis Medicine and Science (STMS) and a certified USPTA teaching professional.

Dr. Jayanthi published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences. He has designed injury prevention and conditioning programs for competitive and elite junior programs at several tennis clubs.  Dr. Jayanthi, has had recent appearances on WGN news Sports Radio, WGN-TV news “Medical Watch,”, ABC News, CBS national radio, WGN and CLTV “Living Healthy” TV show, XM radio, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and numerous other media outlets for recent research findings on junior tennis players and elite young athletes.
