Neerja Bhatla specializes in Gynaecologic Oncology and has undertaken numerous research projects in this field, in particular on cervical cancer prevention in low‐resource situations in collaboration with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Lyon, France and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, U.S. She is also the Chairperson at the Gynaecologic Oncology Committee with the International Federation of Gynaecology & Obstetrics (FIGO). This Committee has collaborated with the IAEA in preparing a mobile application that guides the Resource‐based Management of Gynaecologic Cancers according to FIGO Staging, a unique initiative that suits all situations globally. The content was developed at the department at AIIMS collating standard guidelines, and then reviewed by FIGO Committee members as well as the Gynaecologic Disease Management Group at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.
