Dr. Shah graduated from medical school in India in March 2010. He then proceeded to study public health at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. He achieved expertise in epidemiology and statistical analysis from his work and education at the University of Texas Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Subsequently, he joined the Internal Medicine residency program at Staten Island University Hospital, NY in 2011. He finished his internal medicine training in July 2014 and he is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He then joined the Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at the Lehigh Valley Health Network, PA starting in July 2014. He finished his general cardiology training in June 2017 and is currently pursuing training in Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, NY. He is board-certified in echocardiography, cardiovascular computerized tomography, and nuclear cardiology. He is an Assistant Professor at East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU. He has expertise in secondary analyses from large clinical trials and national databases including National Health and Nutrition Survey (NHANES), Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS), AFFIRM trial, and WARCEF trial databases. His research interests include atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, biomarkers, volume-outcome relationships, stent thrombosis, therapeutic hypothermia, and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD).
