Neeraj Badjatia MD, MS, MHCDS

Dr. Neeraj Badjatia, MD, MS, MHCDS, is a Professor of Neurology, Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology, and Chief of Neurocritical Care for the Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He also holds secondary faculty appointments in Anesthesiology and Neurosurgery and plays a key leadership role in advancing clinical care and research for critically ill neurological patients.

Dr. Badjatia earned his medical degree (MD) from Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine, followed by a Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a Master’s in Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

He completed his neurology residency and chief residency at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a distinguished clinical fellowship in Neurocritical Care and Vascular Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also completed advanced training in clinical effectiveness at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Badjatia is internationally recognized for his contributions to neurocritical care, traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular disease, and advanced physiological monitoring in critically ill patients. His research explores the systemic consequences of acute brain injury, including targeted temperature management, machine learning applications to continuous physiological data, and the interaction between metabolism, nutrition, inflammation, and neurologic recovery after conditions such as subarachnoid hemorrhage.
