Neel Anand MD, MChOrth

Neel Anand, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and Director of Spine Trauma at the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center. His main area of interest is minimally invasive surgical techniques for spinal disorders with an emphasis on trauma in adults and children. He firmly believes that smaller incisions lead to faster recovery and better patient outcomes. Dr. Anand is actively involved in the development of non-fusion spinal surgery emerging technologies and is known as a principal investigator in many FDA investigational device exemption studies. Dr. Anand earned his medical degree in India, from the University of Bombay, Topiwala National Medical College. He completed several orthopedic residencies at the University of Bombay, the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England in London, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Orthopedic Program at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York and at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in Liverpool.

Dr. Anand is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS), Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), Spine Arthroplasty Society (SAS), Society for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (MISS), and Society for Lateral Access Surgery (SOLAS).
br/> Dr. Anand has presented numerous papers at major academic conferences and has been extensively published in peer-reviewed publications, such as the Journal of Spinal Disorders, Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, Spine and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has contributed textbook chapters and educational CD-ROMs for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an editor for the Spine Arthroplasty Society Journal.
