Neal L. Eigler, MD is staff cardiologist in the Division of Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is internationally recognized as one of the leading specialists in interventional cardiology. Dr. Eigler specializes in developing new interventional procedures and devices, such as drug-eluting stents and implantable heart failure management systems. In addition, he serves as Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
His special research interests are in audiographic and ultrasonic cardiac imaging, new stent technologies, brachytherapy and implantable heart failure management systems. In addition to his position at Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Eigler serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Savacor, Inc., a medical device company that he founded. He holds several patents related to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Eigler is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions and the American Heart Association. He has published more than 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and made numerous presentations at international meetings.
Dr. Eigler earned his baccalaureate degree from UCLA in cybernetics and his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
