Nazzarena Malavolta MD

Dr. Nazzarena Malavolta graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the "Alma Mater Studiorum" University of Bologna in December 1979; subsequently he obtained the Specialization in Internal Medicine, in Rheumatology and in Occupational Medicine, all at the same University. From 1980 to 1984 he worked as a night and holiday guard at the Casalecchio di Reno AUSL; from 1984 to 1992 she was permanent assistant at the Institute of Medical Pathology and Clinical Methodology of the University of Bologna, S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital; from 1992 to July 2019 she was hospital assistant and then 1st level executive doctor in rheumatology. He has been part of the Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) Business Group from the time of his inception (2002) to the present day. She was a member of the regional working group for the drafting of the "Recommendations for the use of biological drugs in Rheumatoid Arthritis" during the year 2009, and a member of the regional working group for the drafting of the regional register for "Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriasis Arthritis ". He participated in the construction of the multisciplinary PDTA dedicated to the patient with muscle pathology. Until 1994 his activity was directed to the study of mineral metabolism aimed at screening and follow-up in particular of patients with metabolic osteopathies. Since 1991 she has also dedicated herself to instrumental densitometric diagnostics, especially in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis. Subsequently, the interest extended to rheumatic diseases, starting a specialized rheumatological activity at the University Hospital of Bologna Policlinico Sant'Orsola-Malpighi. Since 2003 she has been in charge of SS. coordination of diagnostic and outpatient activities in the rheumatology field of the University Hospital of Bologna Policlinico S. Orsola Malpighi. Receives by appointment at the "Parco dei Cedri" Private Outpatient Clinic in Bologna.
