Navin Suppiah

Navin is an experienced Mental Health Solicitor who has been accredited by the Law Society as a recognised specialist since 2003. He acts for a wide range of clients involved with the mental health services in both civil and forensic matters. Recently he has been advising on setting up and developing new departments within solicitors firms and advising on compliance with the Legal Aid Agency Unified Contract, as well as SQM and LEXCEL quality standards.

Navin also regularly teaches nursing staff and other mental health professionals on the practical application of mental health law and mental capacity law. Recent topics for seminars include, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Mental Health Act 1983 (2007), Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Report Writing and Record Keeping.
