Dr. Naveen Srivastava holds 5 years of experience in the field of Psychiatry. He worked as a Senior Resident for 3 years at the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Kanke, Ranchi, Jharkhand from 14th July 2012 to 13 July 2015. The institute provides outpatient, inpatient and daycare treatment. It is a 643-bed premier tertiary care hospital in India. CIP receives patients with almost all spectrum of psychiatric problems. From 14th July 2012 to 7th July 2013 senior residency looked after adult female wards. Work involved management of patients including pharmacological and psychological in OPD and in wards, taking rounds in wards and supervising group meetings and group therapy. From 7th July 2013 to 13 July 2015 senior residency looked after the De-addiction centre of the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi. Work at the De-addiction centre involves supervision of the management of patients taking different types of substances (alcohol, opioids, sedatives, cannabis, volatile substances, hallucinogens and multiple substances simultaneously) through pharmacological methods (detoxification, anti-craving treatment) and psychological methods whichever is appropriate (Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Relapse Prevention Therapy, Brief Intervention, Family and Couple Therapy, Group Therapy & Group Meetings) along with taking rounds and outpatient care in OPD. Simultaneously helped in organising and conducting three training programmes for doctors of five states (Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal) as part of the organising team. These training programmes were based on ‘Substance Use Disorders’.
