Dr, Naveed Masani, MD I pursued a career in medicine because of my interest in people and their wellbeing along with a desire to understand science at a deeper level. Medicine combines my concern for humanity and the pursuit of scientific knowledge, which makes being a physician extremely rewarding for me. I chose to specialize in nephrology and hypertension because I was drawn to internal medicine and systemic diseases. I also wanted to understand and follow patients throughout their care at various levels of illness, including in outpatient and inpatient settings and during dialysis and transplantation.
