Nathaniel C. Lawson DMD, PhD

Dr. Nathaniel Lawson is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Biomaterials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He started his education as a biomedical engineering student at Tulane University. He completed his DMD at the UAB School of Dentistry and his MS and Ph.D. in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UAB. Following graduation, he worked in private practice for 1.5 years in Alabama and Illinois. He is passionate about testing new materials and techniques in the laboratory and applying the results to clinical dentistry. He has published 21 abstracts, 15 articles, and 1 book chapter related to dental materials. His primary research interests are related to the physical and mechanical properties of dental ceramics, composites, cement, and adhesives.
