Nathan White PhD

Dr. Nathan White is a cell biologist working as a post-doctoral research fellow at University College London. He studied his MSc in Genetics at the University of Aberdeen (UoA), researching mutations affecting cell signalling, which lead to disease. He then pursued his PhD at UoA, shifting his research interest into tissue regeneration and stem cell therapy.

He is currently investigating novel methods to assess potential genotoxic effects after gene editing of stem cells for use in cutting-edge cytotherapies. Alongside his academic responsibilities, he has developed a keen interest in the cellular responses to psychedelic compounds with a particular emphasis on Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and its involvement in the 5-HTR family signalling axis.
