Nathalie Ginovart obtained in 1994 a doctorate of sciences (neurosciences) from the University Claude Bernard of Lyon. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in psychiatric neuroimaging at the Karolinska Institute , Sweden. Her research led to her appointment as assistant professor at the University of Toronto in 1999, where she developed new molecular imaging tools and methods for the in vivo study of central monoaminergic systems.
She arrived in Geneva in 2005 and joined the Department of Psychiatry of UNIGE's Faculty of Medicine and the HUG Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry, where she continued her research in neuroimaging, based on the use of imagery. positron emission tomography (PET), as well as biological, behavioral and environmental mechanisms and vulnerabilities involved in the development of addictions. She is appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine in November 2015.
