Nathalie Bere has been working at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for over 18 years and is currently responsible for the Agency’s engagement with patients and consumers in the Public Engagement Department. Ms Bere is dedicated to ensuring that there are opportunities for including the patients’ voice along the medicines regulatory lifecycle. Her work involves not only the daily interactions with patients as they participate, but also developing and monitoring the scope of involvement of these stakeholders within the various Agency activities, such as participation in expert meetings, committee consultations and the review of medicines information for patients. During the past few years, there has been a significant increase in patient participation and Ms Bere is committed to further strengthening this involvement, with particular emphasis on ensuring adequate training and support is given to those who participate
