Natasja MS de Groot was trained in clinical electrophysiology and cardiology at the Leiden University Medical Center and in experimental electrophysiology at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht. The title of her thesis was ‘Mapping and Ablation of Atrial TachyArrhythmias; from Signal to Substrate. In 2009, she started working as a cardiologist-electrophysiologist and scientist at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 2014, she has been appointed as associate professor. She has been involved in writing various international guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology, European Heart Rhythm Association and Heart Rhythm Society. Her current positions include: 1. cardiologist-electrophysiologist at Erasmus Medical Center 2. Director research program translational electrophysiology 3. Director of the Erasmus Atrial Fibrillation Center of Excellence 4.
