Natasa Bratina is currently working at the University Childrens hospitlal in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is working for almost 3 decades with children and adolescents having diabetes. She is organising a summer camp for children with diabetes for more than 25 years. Education is her favourite field and together with the medical team they developed a step by step education program from diagnose on. For 15 years Slovenias caregivers and teachers are educated about diabetes so they can help the youngest children in a case of emergency. Every year more than 350 caregivers visit this program.
Psychological support is the next field of research in UCH, in the last years focusing on a screening program for children above the age of 10 and their parents discovering problems such as fear of hypoglycaemia, eating disorders etc. at an early phase.
