Kate Secombe is a PhD candidate in the Cancer Treatment Toxicities Group within the University of Adelaide. She has an Honours degree in health science, a degree in biomedical science, and has worked as a researcher, determining how a variety of cancer treatments affect gastrointestinal health. Kate’s current research surrounds the role of the gut microbiome in determining chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal injury. Additionally, she is involved in running a large, multisite clinical study that aims to determine the usefulness of faecal microbiome transplants in a subset of patients with cancer.
