Dr. Naseer Ahmad qualified in 2002 from Liverpool and undertook his clinical and academic training in Merseyside. At MFT, he specializes in limb preservation surgery and co-chairs the Lower limb Preservation Team which has reduced major amputations by 23% over three years. His clinics are in Salford Royal Infirmary where he reviews patients from across the North of England. His award-winning research is health inequalities and he, for the first time, described regional, gender, and ethnic inequalities across England.
He is currently working with both the Strategic Clinical Network and the Vascular Parliamentary Group to set up the MARS project (Manchester Amputation Reduction Strategy). This aims to harmonize hospital and community vascular services and integrate them with public health and social care.
