Dr. Naresh P Shanmugam completed his graduation from Stanley Medical College, Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University and post-graduation from the same university. He is now appointed as the senior consultant at Global Hospitals, Chennai to develop comprehensive pediatric liver transplant program and provide Gastro & nutritional support to children. With Surgical expertise from Prof Rela and state of the art, intensive care facilities liver transplantation became feasible even for small Infants.
Since inception of Pediatric transplant program, more than 200 children have been transplanted in this center with a success rate of around 92%. With more than 50 pediatric liver transplantation/ year this center has become one of the world’s largest pediatric transplant centers. Dr. Naresh Shanmugam was promoted as Clinical director for Global Institute of pediatrics in 2016 to set up a comprehensive pediatric multi-organ transplant center
