Nanne Pieter Kort MD, PhD

Dr. Nanne Kort began his career in Curacao as a resident, continuing this position in 1996 at the Academical Medical Centre in Amsterdam with R.K. Marti, MD, Ph.D., Professor of orthopedics. In 1997 he started preparatory studies in Surgery at the Stichting Deventer Ziekenhuizen in Deventer, the Netherlands under the guidance of M. Eeftinck Schattenkerk, MD, Ph.D., General Surgeon. He spent the 6-month waiting time between the Orthopedic training and the General Surgery Surgery period as resident orthopedics in Deventer under the supervision of A.P.P.M. Driessen, MD, Ph.D., Orthopaedic Surgeon. He did the first and last six months of the program at University Medical Centre Groningen under the guidance of J.R. van Horn, MD, PhD, professor of Orthopedics, and the three non-academic years at the Martini Hospital in Groningen under the guidance of R. Deutman, MD, PhD, Orthopedic Surgeon and J.J.A.M. van Raay, MD, PhD, Orthopedic Surgeon. It was there that the basis was established his thesis: Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty.
