Nancy is a Professor at The Valley Foundation School of Nursing at San Jose State University. She has extensive experience leading system-level change in healthcare service delivery for older adults aging with serious illnesses, through research, development, management, and coordination of programs across settings from acute care to long-term care. She has Master’s degrees in Nursing Administration and in Gerontology, and a Ph.D. in Health Policy from UCSF. Dr. Dudley completed a Geriatrics and Palliative Care VA Quality Scholar Fellowship at UCSF, and a Palliative Care Fellowship at Stanford School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the serious illness workforce, identifying populations in primary and specialty care to benefit from palliative care services, improving access to community-based palliative care upstream from hospice, and integrating palliative care in education. As a respected faculty member of The Valley Foundation School of Nursing (SJSU), Nancy has partnered with the Susan and Charles Berghoff Foundation to provide dementia education seminars to nursing students since 2019.
